The America First Foreign Policy Act
Require that every foreign aid package, military commitment, and international agreement pass a strict America First test: does it serve the direct interests of the American people?
The Problem
The United States spends hundreds of billions of dollars annually on foreign commitments that provide little or no benefit to the American people. Meanwhile, our own infrastructure crumbles, our own borders go undefended, and our own veterans go without adequate care.
Our Proposal
The America First Foreign Policy Act would require a formal America First Impact Assessment for every foreign aid package exceeding $100 million, mandate that NATO allies meet their 2% GDP defense spending commitments before receiving U.S. military support, prohibit foreign aid to countries that vote against the United States in the UN more than 50% of the time, and require Senate ratification of all significant international agreements.
