The Problem
In schools across the country, parents have been shut out of decisions about curriculum, materials, and even their children's social and medical transitions. Government bureaucrats and teachers unions have claimed authority over children that belongs to parents.
Our Proposal
The Parental Rights in Education Act would require all public schools to make curriculum materials available to parents on request, prohibit schools from concealing information about a student's social or medical status from parents, establish a federal cause of action for parents whose rights are violated, and tie federal education funding to state compliance with parental rights standards.
