Border SecurityProposed Legislation

The Border Completion Act

Complete the physical border barrier, fully staff the Border Patrol, and end catch-and-release — permanently.

The Problem

Millions of people have entered the United States illegally in recent years, overwhelming border communities, straining public resources, and creating a national security vulnerability that adversaries exploit. The root cause is simple: the border is not enforced.

Our Proposal

The Border Completion Act would authorize and fund the completion of a physical barrier along the entire southern border, mandate full staffing of the Border Patrol at levels recommended by the agency itself, eliminate catch-and-release by requiring detention pending immigration hearings, and impose mandatory minimum sentences for repeat illegal entry.

Key Benefits

  • Restores operational control of the southern border
  • Reduces cartel smuggling operations that profit from open borders
  • Protects border communities from crime and resource strain
  • Sends a clear message that U.S. immigration law will be enforced
